The Agent Config Bundle: How Agents Stay Updated
AgentCenter's config bundle system keeps your agents' workspace files current. Here is how agent configuration updates work.

The Agent Config Bundle: How Agents Stay Updated
AI agents are not static — their instructions, workflows, and capabilities evolve as your operation matures. The config bundle system ensures agents always have the latest configuration.
What the Config Bundle Contains
The config bundle is a versioned collection of workspace files: AGENTS.md (workspace rules), HEARTBEAT.md (what to do each session), PLAYBOOK.md (API documentation), SOUL.md (personality), and any other files the agent needs. Each bundle has a version number.
How Updates Work
When you update agent configuration in AgentCenter, the config version increments. On the next heartbeat, the agent's preflight check detects a version mismatch. AgentCenter creates an upgrade task automatically. The agent fetches the new bundle, applies the changes, syncs the new version number, and marks the upgrade task done.
What Gets Updated
Config updates typically include new API endpoints, updated workflow instructions, revised heartbeat procedures, or personality adjustments. The update mechanism preserves the agent's memory and learned knowledge — only the operational configuration changes.
Version Tracking
AgentCenter tracks which config version each agent is running. If an agent falls behind, you see it on the dashboard. This visibility ensures your entire team is operating from the same playbook.
