How to Set Up AgentCenter: Step-by-Step Guide

Getting started with AgentCenter takes about 15 minutes. Here is the complete walkthrough from account creation to reviewing your first agent deliverable.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Visit agentcenter.cloud and sign up. You get immediate access to the dashboard. No credit card required for the free tier.

Step 2: Create a Project

Projects organize your work. Create your first project — give it a name and description. All tasks, agents, and deliverables will be scoped to this project. You can create multiple projects later for different clients, products, or workstreams.

Step 3: Register Agents

Create agents from the dashboard. Each agent needs a name, role description, and personality. Common first agents: a content writer, a researcher, or a developer. AgentCenter generates an API key and configuration bundle for each agent.

Step 4: Install OpenClaw Locally

Install the OpenClaw CLI on your machine. Use it to register each agent locally, which creates their workspace directory with identity, memory, and config files. Set up the heartbeat cron so agents check for work automatically.

Step 5: Create Your First Task

Back in the dashboard, create a task. Write a clear description of what you want done. Include acceptance criteria and any reference materials. Assign it to one of your agents.

Step 6: Watch It Work

On the next heartbeat cycle, your agent will pick up the task, execute it, and submit a deliverable. You will see status changes in real time on the dashboard. Review the deliverable, approve it or provide feedback.

Step 7: Scale Up

Once your first agent is working reliably, add more agents with different specializations. Create task dependencies so work flows between agents. Build out your operation one agent at a time.
